Location: Denver Metro Area
Schedule: Monday–Friday (with potential emergency response call-outs as needed)
Pay: $25.00/hour
Job SummaryWe are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Environmental Emergency Response Technician / Hazmat Laborer to support environmental emergency response teams, fixed facility projects, and site remediation operations throughout the Denver Metro area. This role is ideal for individuals with construction, general labor, hazardous materials, or industrial service experience who thrive in hands-on environments and are committed to workplace safety.
The successful candidate will assist with hazardous waste cleanup, emergency spill response, decontamination activities, and environmental remediation projects while working under the direction of experienced supervisors and project managers.
Responsibilities- Respond to environmental emergencies, hazardous material spills, and cleanup situations in a timely manner
- Perform hazardous waste cleanup and site remediation activities
- Decontaminate equipment, vehicles, structures, and work sites impacted by hazardous or toxic substances
- Prepare, package, and handle hazardous waste for transportation, processing, or disposal
- Support emergency response teams during HazMat incidents using specialized equipment and tools
- Perform fire watch duties as assigned
- Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and environmental regulations
- Complete Daily Job Reports documenting work performed, materials used, and equipment utilized
- Assist with setup, cleanup, and maintenance of job sites and equipment
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain compliance with safety standards
- Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites
- Construction or general labor experience
- Ability to pass a HazMat physical
- Must be clean-shaven to ensure proper respirator fit
- Must provide and wear steel-toed boots
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials and equipment
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- HazMat or environmental remediation experience
- Pharmaceutical facility experience
- Emergency response experience
- Fire watch experience
- Additional environmental, safety, or industrial certifications
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50+ pounds
- Ability to work in PPE, including respirators and protective clothing
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments and confined spaces when required
- Ability to perform emergency response work under varying conditions

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Arvada, CO.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
