Description\n

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Burn ICU (BICU) position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and night shift availability.

  • Short-term acute care hospital setting with 426 staffed beds, part of the Yale New Haven Health System
  • \n
  • Burn ICU (BICU) unit serving both burn and non-critical patient populations
  • \n
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
  • \n
  • Every other weekend required
  • \n
  • Floating required as needed
  • \n
  • Charting via Epic (experience preferred)
  • \n
  • Free parking available on-site
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Active CT or Compact RN license required
  • \n
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • \n
  • BLS certification required
  • \n
  • Level II Trauma Center or comparable acute care experience preferred
  • \n
  • Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates are not eligible for this position
  • \n
  • Candidates must not have any prior disciplinary actions on their nursing license
  • \n
  • 1 professional reference required for consideration
  • \n

  • May be assigned to non-critical patients as the unit serves both burn and general patient populations
  • \n
  • Flu vaccine is required; declinations are not accepted
  • \n
  • COVID vaccine required; religious and medical exemptions are accepted
  • \n
  • Former permanent staff of this facility must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
  • \n
  • Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved for this assignment
  • \n
  • Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as required by the facility
  • \n
