Job Description
DISHER is partnering with a full-service design firm specializing in furniture procurement, interior design, and project management to find a Director of Procurement to lead their growing procurement team. This leader will oversee all phases of the procurement process—from design concept and selection through purchasing, fulfillment, shipping, installation, and servicing. You’ll drive operational excellence while collaborating closely with design and project management teams to deliver exceptional results for their clients.

- Lead and mentor the procurement team through all phases of the procurement process, including design concepts, bidding, budgeting, purchasing, and fulfillment.
- Create and implement product selection and documentation processes to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Prepare budget templates, manage project budgets, and leverage technology to streamline workflows.
- Develop bid sheets, quality-check proposals, and submit competitive offerings to customers.
- Write purchase orders, track orders, and maintain daily updates on deadlines and project activities.
- Coordinate delivery of products and manage installation logistics with vendors and trades.
- Produce proposals, bids, drawings, presentations, product selections, and specifications.
- Support recurring sales efforts to identify new opportunities and expand project scope.
- Conduct research on customers and maintain updated databases.
- Collaborate with design and project management teams to align purchasing with overall project goals.
- Receive, inspect, and manage product inventory as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Fine Arts, Architecture, Business Management, or equivalent experience.
- Five or more years of business management experience.
- Seven or more years of experience in a procurement capacity.
- Extensive knowledge of furniture and the end-to-end procurement process.
- Strong research skills and the ability to think critically through complex problems.
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication abilities.
- High emotional intelligence, solid project management skills, and proven leadership capabilities.
- Proficiency with Autodesk CAD, Revit, Sketch-Up, CET, Adobe Suite, Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, and CRM platforms.
- Experience coaching and developing team members.
- Ability to work with limited direction, managing yourself virtually and remaining accountable for results.
