Facilities Associate
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire
Location: Phoenix, AZ (100% Onsite)
Pay Rate: $23.06 – $25.60 / hour (Dependent on Experience)
Position Overview
Are you a proactive problem solver with a strong background in facility maintenance, building upkeep, or handyman work? We are seeking a reliable and skilled Facilities Associate to join our team in Phoenix, AZ.
Reporting directly to the Manager of Facilities, you will play a hands-on role in supporting daily operations, preventative maintenance, vendor coordination, and site improvement projects. This is a dynamic role suited for someone who enjoys a mix of technical troubleshooting, physical hands-on tasks, and driving operational excellence across multiple commercial sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Technical Support: Perform preventative maintenance and routine repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and structural building systems.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve routine facility issues efficiently to ensure a safe and functional work environment.
- Vendor & Contractor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and contractors, escort them on-site, and review completed work and invoices.
- System & Order Tracking: Track, update, and manage facilities work orders using internal system software.
- Inventory Control: Monitor and maintain stock levels for essential supplies, filters, lighting, and replacement parts.
- Site Operations & Projects: Assist with facility improvement projects, physical security tasks as assigned, and routine multi-site upkeep.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in facilities maintenance, commercial building maintenance, apartment maintenance, or general handyman experience.
- Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Schematic Literacy: Ability to read and interpret facility layouts, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to regularly lift, carry, and move up to 25 lbs, and work comfortably in both indoor and outdoor settings.
- Licensure & Driving: Valid Arizona Driver's License, a clean driving record (MVR check required), and reliable transportation (travel between local sites may be required).
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong customer service background with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience utilizing a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- OSHA certification or formal workplace safety training.
- Previous experience supporting multi-site, office, or healthcare environments.
