This Opportunity

We are seeking an Industrial Services Project Manager who thrives in fast-paced, hands-on environments. In this role, you’ll oversee field execution, coordinate crews, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You’ll lead a variety of industrial services projects, including spill response and cleanup, industrial facility cleaning and decontamination, tank cleaning, related investigation and support activities, and more! You’ll manage scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables while serving as the main point of contact for clients and subcontractors. With frequent site visits and client interaction, you’ll help drive projects forward, build strong relationships, and identify new opportunities. Your Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed instructions for field staff and mid-level professionals and direct their project work.
  • Prepare and/or review project deliverables including work plans, project reports, bidding, specifications, and other correspondence using technical writing and analysis skills.
  • Prepare both individual project proposals and support or lead large-scale company proposal efforts.
  • Collaboratively work and coordinate with other staff to problem solve and produce high quality creative solutions for our customers.
  • Frequently perform client site visits to scope out projects and opportunities.
  • Make frequent customer/client contact and prepare project status reports.
  • Review draft invoices and timesheets prepare final invoices, and appropriately manage project financial performance.
  • Coordinate with and manage reliable subcontractors working on your projects.
  • Facilitate contracts (Project Service Agreements, Master Service Agreements) with clients and subcontractors.
  • Work with the internal waste disposal team to properly manage project generated waste transportation and disposal.
  • Travel occasionally to perform field safety audits, kickoff field work, or meet with clients, regulators, and other project stakeholders.
  • Routinely attend meetings, conferences, and industry functions as a Bay West representative for business development and recruiting.
  • Foster safety, mentoring, authenticity, and accountability within your team and throughout the company as we strive to become a “best place to work”.
  • Provide technical expertise and, guidance to field staff.
  • Provide professional direction and guidance in career development.
  • Schedule staff for individual projects, make decisions about future staffing, and provide succession planning feedback.
  • Understand and communicate results regarding Utilizations, Labor Report, email, and PM Dashboard
  • Keep staff informed of company policies, procedures, and developments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, geology, environmental science, biology, or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in project management in an environmental or industrial setting, with project management experience on spill cleanup projects, industrial facility cleaning involving hazardous materials, above ground and below ground tank cleanings and other environmental/industrial investigation projects.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental, hazardous waste and DOT regulations
  • Effective and demonstrable technical writing and data analysis/management skills.
  • Effective at working on cost estimating templates in Excel spreadsheets.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER training and current refreshers.
  • Ability to work on fast-paced projects and supply a quality deliverable that exceeds customer expectations.
  • Ability to foster friendly, positive, productive, and team relationships.
  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to be self-directed and work independently, as well as a team-player.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
  • Interested in continued professional growth including attendance at professional conferences, external training, and course work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional licensure as a PG, PE, CHMM, PMP
  • Experience in another related environmental service line such as regulated materials assessment, Phase I ESA preparation and/or review, or other similar examples preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently required to stand, sit and/or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Repetitive motions: substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands and/or fingers (including reaching)
  • Occasionally lifting, carrying, or exerting force of objects up to 25 pounds
