Surgical Tech - Operating Room

Location: Lakewood, Colorado

Start Date: 08-03-2026

End Date: 11-02-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Nights, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), Monday-Wednesday or Tuesday-Thursday with call rotation

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields and equipment in the operating room
• Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
• Anticipate needs of the surgical team to ensure smooth workflow
• Handle and care for surgical specimens and ensure proper documentation
• Collaborate with nursing and anesthesia staff for optimal patient outcomes
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols at all times

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA required
• BLS certification from AHA required
• Colorado DORA certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an operating room setting
• Experience with robotic surgery and trauma cases preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and participate in call rotation

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in robotic surgical systems and setup
• Knowledge of trauma procedures and Level 1 trauma center operations
• Strong sterile technique and aseptic practices
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and efficiently
