Job Details- Position: Pharmacist
- Location: Houston
- Contract Length: 13 Weeks
- Shift: Night Shift
- Schedule: 4×10
- Experience Required: 2 Years
- Weekly Pay: $2900 to $3100
- Review, verify, and dispense medications accurately in accordance with physician orders and clinical guidelines
- Evaluate medication therapies for appropriateness, effectiveness, drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications
- Prepare and compound medications, including sterile preparations, when required
- Monitor patient medication regimens and recommend therapeutic alternatives as appropriate
- Provide medication counseling and education to patients, families, nurses, and healthcare providers
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize medication therapy and patient outcomes
- Participate in antimicrobial stewardship, medication safety initiatives, and quality improvement programs
- Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations, Joint Commission standards, and hospital policies
- Maintain accurate documentation and medication records using pharmacy information systems
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians while ensuring efficient pharmacy operations
- Respond promptly to medication-related emergencies and after-hours pharmacy needs
- Active Texas Pharmacist License
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy from an accredited program
- Minimum 2 years of recent hospital or acute care pharmacist experience
- Current BLS Certification preferred
- Experience with computerized physician order entry (CPOE), pharmacy information systems, and electronic medical records (EMR)
- Knowledge of sterile compounding and IV admixture preferred
- Strong understanding of pharmacotherapy, medication safety, and clinical pharmacy practices
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently during night shifts while collaborating effectively with healthcare teams
- Commitment to delivering safe, accurate, and patient-centered pharmaceutical care
