DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position maintains and repairs a wide range of vehicles, tools, and construction equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. As an Automotive Mechanic, you will perform the following duties:
- Vehicle Repair: Perform skilled maintenance on cars, trucks, tractors, construction equipment, and powered hand tools
- Preventive Care: Carry out routine services such as oil changes, diagnostics, tune-ups, tire changes, and system repairs
- Safety Inspection: Complete official state safety and emissions inspections and document required records
- Field Service: Conduct emergency repairs and make necessary adjustments at garage or field locations
- Equipment Records: Maintain detailed documentation of repairs, parts used, and conditions of equipment
- Parts Acquisition: Obtain needed parts and provide accurate information for proper equipment purchases

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Work hours are subject to change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $49,819.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or
- Completion of an approved apprenticeship; or
- Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a current and valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
- This position requires possession of a valid Class 1 Inspection Mechanic certificate or equivalent that allows inspection for Class 1 vehicles.
