The Department of Human Services is seeking a Clerical Assistant 2 to support LIHEAP operations in the Chester County Assistance Office. It plays a key part in providing clear communication, accurate recordkeeping, and strong customer service. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Scanning Tasks: Scan and categorize documents using dedicated scanners or multifunction devices
- Data Entry: Input information into CIS, Mapper, and other automated systems
- Record Filing: File documents and purge case records according to retention schedules
- Visitor Reception: Greet visitors and direct them based on their service needs
- Information Sorting: Review and sort mail, printouts, case messages, and logs
- Supervisor Communication: Discuss procedures and share suggestions to support job performance

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time, seasonal employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- This is a full-time, seasonal position that typically runs for 6-8 months during the fall and winter seasons to assist clients in the process of applying for heating assistance.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 1-hour lunch.
- Travel and overtime as needed.
- Work Conditions: Assigned duties are performed in a controlled office environment. In counties with District Offices, employees may be reassigned to different work sites due to operational needs. Reassignments will be made in compliance with contract language.
- Telework: This position may be eligible to telework part time. Specific details of the telework schedule will be discussed during the interview process. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Thorndale, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting hourly rate of $18.83 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
