Location: Dallas, NC 28034
Duration: 3+ Months (Temp-to-Perm Opportunity)
Shift: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (1st Shift)
We are seeking a dependable and patient-focused Phlebotomist I to join our team at CaroMont Family Medicine & Urgent Care in Dallas, NC. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of recent phlebotomy experience, strong specimen processing skills, and excellent customer service abilities. This role involves performing blood collections, processing laboratory specimens, collecting patient payments, and working both independently and as part of a team. This position offers the potential for contract-to-hire based on performance.
Key Responsibilities- Perform venipuncture using straight and butterfly needles.
- Collect blood, urine, fecal, and other specimens according to established procedures.
- Perform approximately 30-50 blood draws per day.
- Accurately label, centrifuge, split, freeze, process, and package specimens for transport.
- Verify physician orders and laboratory requisitions for accuracy.
- Maintain specimen integrity by following proper storage and transportation procedures.
- Explain specimen collection procedures to patients in a professional and courteous manner.
- Update patient information and maintain accurate documentation.
- Collect patient payments as required.
- Answer telephone inquiries and provide laboratory-related assistance.
- Follow OSHA and laboratory safety protocols while maintaining a clean work environment.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1 year of recent phlebotomy experience in a laboratory, hospital, or patient service setting.
- Strong venipuncture and specimen processing skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to stand for 6-7 hours during the workday.
- Ability to work independently after training.
- Must meet all required immunization and compliance requirements.
- Previous experience in an outpatient clinic or urgent care setting.
- Experience processing laboratory specimens.
- State Phlebotomy Certification (where applicable).
- Onsite Family Medicine & Urgent Care clinic.
- Team environment until approximately 1:00 PM, then independent work until the end of the shift.
- Fast-paced outpatient setting.
- One week of orientation in Charlotte followed by one week of onsite training in Dallas before working independently.
- Travel: Required only during the initial training period.
- Training: 2 weeks (1 week in Charlotte, 1 week in Dallas).
