Job Description
Make a meaningful impact as a K-2 paraprofessional supporting young learners with a variety of behavioral needs, including mild, moderate, and severe challenges. This full-time, contract opportunity near Littleton, CO, offers a dynamic environment where your compassion and dedication will directly contribute to students’ daily success. You’ll work 37.5 hours per week alongside a team dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning experience for all children.
Ideal candidates should have prior experience as a paraprofessional or a strong desire to support the educational and behavioral growth of young students. You will be instrumental in implementing behavior plans, providing 1:1 or small group support, and building trusting relationships with students exhibiting behaviors such as eloping or difficulties with classroom consistency.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a paraprofessional or similar support role in a school setting
- Knowledge of and comfort working with mild, moderate, and severe behaviors in children
- Ability to respond calmly to eloping and other behavioral challenges
- Team-oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Dependability and a flexible attitude in a dynamic environment
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and nurturing learning atmosphere
Responsibilities:
- Assist K-2 students with academic, social, and behavioral needs throughout the school day
- Provide proactive support and monitor students who may exhibit eloping or other challenging behaviors
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and administrators
- Implement individualized education and behavior management plans under direct supervision
- Foster positive, respectful relationships with students, families, and staff
- Support classroom routines, transitions, and daily activities to ensure student safety
