We are looking for a Patient Access Specialist to support front-end patient services for a healthcare setting. This Contract position focuses on creating a welcoming experience for patients while managing registration, scheduling, and insurance-related processes with accuracy and care. The ideal candidate is organized, service-oriented, and comfortable handling sensitive information in a fast-paced medical environment.


Responsibilities:

• Welcome patients and visitors warmly, creating a detail-oriented and supportive first impression at the point of arrival.

• Complete patient intake by gathering, confirming, and updating demographic, coverage, and payment details within the electronic medical record system.

• Review insurance information to confirm active coverage, secure required approvals, and clearly communicate out-of-pocket costs to patients.

• Arrange, adjust, and confirm appointments in coordination with care teams to help maintain an efficient daily schedule.

• Respond to patient inquiries related to registration, referrals, billing, and available services, addressing concerns promptly and escalating complex matters when needed.

• Handle medical and financial documentation with discretion while following organizational policies and privacy standards.

• Maintain accurate records and ensure all patient access activities are completed in accordance with established healthcare procedures.

• Experience in patient registration, patient access, or a similar healthcare administrative role.

• Working knowledge of appointment scheduling, intake coordination, and front-desk patient support.

• Familiarity with medical insurance verification, authorization processes, and financial responsibility discussions.

• Ability to enter and maintain accurate information in an electronic medical record system.

• Strong customer service and communication skills when assisting patients and visitors.

• High attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential information responsibly.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment while balancing multiple priorities.
