American Traveler is seeking a Chemo-Certified Oncology RN for a 13-week travel assignment at a 402-bed academic teaching hospital in Washington, DC, requiring BMT experience and a valid DC RN license.

- Acute care teaching hospital with 402 staffed beds \n
- Unit: BMT/Oncology (Bles 2) serving BMT, hematology, and inpatient oncology patients \n
- Patient ratio of 1:4–5 \n
- Rotating day and night shifts (3x12-hour shifts); day shift 7:30–18:00, night shift 18:30–7:00 \n
- Every other weekend shift requirement, subject to unit needs \n
- Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity \n
- Skills required: chemotherapy administration, telemetry monitoring, and IV starts \n
- Port access and management required \n
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and management required \n
- Charting system: Cerner (required experience) \n

- Active DC RN license required; a pending DC license may be accepted, but license must be in hand prior to start date \n
- Current BLS certification required \n
- ONS Chemotherapy certification required \n
- ONCC Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred \n
- BSN preferred \n
- Minimum 2 years of specialty experience in hematology/oncology or BMT required (hard stop) \n
- BMT experience required (hard stop) \n
- At least 1 prior completed travel assignment required \n
- Cerner EMR experience required \n
- Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years \n
- Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; a driver's license matching the candidate's address is required to determine local status \n
- Annual flu vaccine required \n

- Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy, managing ports, starting and maintaining IVs, and interpreting and managing dysrhythmias \n
- Schedule is initially determined by unit needs; nurses may submit preferences for future schedules, which are balanced with unit demands \n
- Scrubs are not provided; any color scrubs are acceptable, but scrubs with other hospital logos are not permitted \n
- Candidates who were previously employed at MedStar must have been separated for a minimum of one year before being considered \n
- No RTO is permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; RTO must be declared upfront and is capped at 7 days per 13-week contract \n
- Candidates are not guaranteed a manager interview and should be comfortable proceeding without one \n
- First-time travelers are not eligible; at least one completed travel assignment is required \n
