American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ER/Med-Surg Swing position at a Critical Access Hospital in Minnesota, requiring at least 2 years of ER experience and a rotating day/night schedule with every-other-weekend requirements.

- Acute care setting at a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) designated as a Trauma Level IV, STEMI Receiving, and Stroke Center facility \n
- ER/Med-Surg Swing unit with 4 ER beds and 2 trauma bays, treating an average of 10 patients per day \n
- ER holds are intermixed within the ER; no separate fast track or triage area \n
- Separate psych/seclusion rooms are available on the unit \n
- Charting system: Point Click Care (PCC) \n
- Mindray telemetry monitors are used; RNs are required to read their own cardiac strips \n
- No monitor techs on the unit; no Respiratory Therapy (RT) coverage — RNs manage RT equipment \n
- Lab staff handle phlebotomy draws and X-Ray/CT transport \n
- ED physician coverage on each shift; charge nurse present each shift and takes a patient assignment \n
- Nurse aides/EMTs/paramedics/patient sitters are available on-call only \n
- 12-hour rotating Day/Night shifts: 7a–7p and 7p–7a, alternating one week of days and one week of nights \n
- Every-other-weekend (EOW) requirement \n
- Holiday coverage required when holidays fall within the assigned schedule \n
- No on-call or standby requirement \n
- Float requirement to Med/Surg and Swing Bed, which are on the same unit \n
- 13-week assignment \n
- \n
- Active MN RN license (Standard or Compact/NLC) required; pending licenses are not accepted \n
- Required certifications (all must be active, no pending accepted): BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC; PALS preferred \n
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required \n
- Previous Med/Surg experience required \n
- Experience reading cardiac monitor strips independently \n
- Driver's license required for consideration \n
- 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire \n
- Candidate must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate \n

- RNs manage RT equipment independently, as there is no dedicated RT coverage in the ER \n
- Scrub color required: navy blue \n
- Orientation consists of one 12-hour shift (7a–7p or 7p–7a) \n
- Block scheduling will be considered \n
- Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; additional RTO will not be approved after consideration \n
- Candidates who have been directly employed full-time, part-time, or PRN by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility (including CHI and/or Dignity) within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered \n
