American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 26-week Emergency Department travel contract, working night shifts in a high-volume regional referral and tertiary care center requiring ACLS, BLS, PALS, and triage skills.

- High-volume Emergency Department with 101 beds and approximately 250 patient visits per day \n
- Patient population includes all ages served by a regional referral and tertiary care center \n
- Patient ratio of 1:3–5 \n
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15) \n
- Minimum of 4 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling period, up to every other weekend \n
- Floating is required between the Emergency Observation Unit and Emergency Behavioral Health based on unit need \n
- EMR: Epic (required); also uses Pyxis for medication dispensing \n
- 26-week contract length required \n
- \n
- Active NC or Compact RN license required \n
- Minimum 2 years of relevant RN experience required \n
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, MOAB, NIHSS, PALS \n
- Preferred certification: TNCC \n
- Required skills: IV starts, triage, and telemetry \n
- Additional skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, central line care, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, BiPAP/CPAP management, and isolation precautions/PPE \n
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start \n
- Two manager or supervisor professional references from within the past 2 years required (pending at time of consideration is acceptable) \n

- First-time travelers are welcome to apply \n
- Orientation is 24 hours, conducted weekly \n
- Pre-start online modules are required (approximately 8–10 hours for acute care roles) and must be completed annually; modules are conducted online, via Zoom, webinar, and in-person classes \n
- Scrub color: Navy and/or white \n
- Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays during the assignment \n
- No RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment due to orientation; RTO cannot be requested after signing \n
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved, excluding holidays; additional RTO requires facility approval \n
- Candidates who were previously employed (permanent, PRN, or EP) by Novant Health or New Hanover Regional must wait 12 months before being considered; prior employment history and dates must be disclosed and facility rehire approval is required \n
- Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but will be considered at a reduced rate \n
- Travel pairs are permitted provided they are assigned to different units and both have independent transportation \n
