Job Summary:SUNY Sullivan is seeking to fill the position of Mathematics Adjunct for the Fall 2026 semester. The incumbent will provide seated and/or online instruction for the following courses: Elementary Statistics (online), Intermediate Algebra (seated), and Applied Contemporary Math (online).Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a commitment to the community college philosophy and a culture of belonging.Qualifications: Master's degree in Mathematics or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning preferred; or Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and 6 years or more experience in the fieldTeaching experience, preferably in the community college settingExcellent interpersonal skills as necessary for working with diverse groups of people with varying backgrounds and learning stylesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to adapt to and effectively learn new technologies (learning management systems, online tools, etc.)Familiarity with a breadth and depth of technologies, as applied to specific classesDuties and Responsibilities:Teach up to 14 contact hours of general mathematics courses, as well as potential additional courses related to the applicant's area of professional expertiseDemonstrate excellence in teaching and possess the ability to effectively interact with a diverse student and employee populationHold reliable, student-accessible office hoursTake part as needed in advising and mentoring students, developing curricula, recruiting students, and attending division and faculty meetingsSalary:Salary is determined by a candidate's rank at SUNY Sullivan, based on teaching experience, education, etc. The full salary range is $655 to $740 per contact hour/course credit per semester.
