General Construction Journeyman

The General Construction Journeyman plays a key role in various phases of construction projects, handling essential tasks from site preparation to quality inspection. Working primarily with medium to small teams, this position demands practical experience and a strong commitment to safety and craftsmanship, ensuring projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and to code.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints accurately
• Prepare job sites, including reading elevations, grading, and paving
• Trenching. utility installation, backfill, and compaction
• Perform concrete pouring, finishing, and related tasks
• Construct framing structures for buildings
• Plumbing installation and servicing
• Electrical installation and maintenance
• Mechanical systems installation
• Equipment rigging, setting, and anchoring
• Maintain and care for construction tools and equipment
• Follow all safety regulations and compliance standards
• Handle and transport construction materials safely and efficiently
• Operate construction machinery and equipment
• Coordinate with team members for smooth project progression
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards
• Maintain clean work vehicles, equipment, shop, and jobsites at all times.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in general construction
• High school diploma or equivalent
