Must be within 30 minutes of Hospital to meet call requirement.
\n\n
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
\nRN with critical care and/or Cath/EP experience, intermediate care experience or two years of clinical RN experience.
\nMust possess and maintain a current license or valid permit to practice in Texas.
\nCardiovascular certification such as CVRN II or higher, CCRN, RCIS, RCES preferred, however, once hired certification is required upon completion of training.

JOB SUMMARY:
\nCompetent Clinician. Possesses knowledge and skill to meet standards for competent professional nursing practice as specified in the Texas Nurse Practice Act.
\nExperienced, knowledgeable and skilled in Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cardiac Cath Lab) and Electrophysiology Laboratory (EP Lab) procedures and equipment.
\nIndependently assists in cardiac catheterization as well as electrophysiology, vascular and interventional procedures.
\nCompetently performs emergency procedures associated with catheterization procedure.
\nFollows established standards and practices under the direction of a credentialed invasive cardiologist and electrophysiologist.
\nCompetently functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
\nPractice is characterized by predominantly interdependent decision-making.
\nPractice is problem focused and patient centered in the manner care is provided and able to manage unexpected or emergency situations.
\nServes as a resource for Cath Lab - Nurse Clinician I or II.
\nCan manage commonly seen contingency situations that arise in the department.
\nProvides patient care through nursing practices based upon the American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, Nursing Process and UTMB’s three domains for competency and advancement: Professional Practice, and Professional Performance.
\nValues specialty unit, nursing, and institutional strategic initiatives and health system goals.
