Backend Associate
Shift/Hours: Monday - Sunday, 40 hours a week; weekends are mandatory
Pay Rate: $21 per hour
Location: San Francisco, CA
Experience: At least 1 year of backend experience
We are excited to share a new opportunity for a Backend Associate located in San Francisco! This position is highly sought after and might not be available for long.
Backend Associate Job Duties include:
- Lens Ordering: Accurately placing and managing lens orders via email with various optical laboratories and suppliers, ensuring all specifications (e.g., prescriptions, lens type, coatings) are correctly communicated.
- Logistics & Customer Notification: Coordinating and arranging shipping for completed orders. Proactively notifying customers of order arrival and confirming readiness for pickup.
- Order Preparation & Management: Performing the critical task of accurately matching incoming lenses and frames according to patient orders. Organizing and tracking all special orders to ensure a seamless workflow from sale to delivery.
- Other duties as assigned
Backend Associate Preferred Skills include:
- Optical Knowledge: Familiarity with common optical terminology (e.g., lens materials, coatings, basic prescription formats) is a significant plus.
- Inventory Systems: Experience using inventory management software or a specialized system for tracking orders and stock.
- Time Management: Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple orders simultaneously to meet customer deadlines.
Backend Associate Requirements may include:
- Accuracy & Diligence: Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy is mandatory, especially when handling patient prescription information and matching products.
- Interpersonal Communication: Good communication with store and lab staff to ensure clear, precise, and timely coordination of orders and inventory.
- Technical Literacy: Proficiency in basic computer and email operation skills for placing orders, updating tracking information, and communicating with customers and vendors.
- Operational Background: Proven experience in backroom or stockroom operations, demonstrating the ability to manage inventory flow and organizational systems.
- Logistics Focus: Prior experience in order management or logistics support, including tracking, receiving, and preparing items for shipping or internal distribution.
- Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen
