Senior Accountant - $100,000–$120,000 Base Salary - Denver, CO – Hybrid

The role
Energy Talent Search is partnering with a growing Denver-based organization to find an experienced Senior Accountant.
This is not a role where you will be limited to routine accounting tasks. You will take an active role in financial reporting, analysis, process improvement, and business operations.
Based in Denver, the position offers a hybrid schedule and plenty of opportunity to increase your responsibilities as the finance function grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage key parts of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
- Prepare journal entries and maintain an accurate general ledger
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
- Prepare financial statement schedules and management reports
- Support monthly reporting packages for executive leadership
- Analyze financial results and highlight trends, risks, and opportunities
- Maintain fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accruals, and other accounts
- Assist with revenue recognition and accounting transactions under US GAAP
- Partner with FP&A, Payroll, Human Resources, and Operations
- Prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external audits
- Improve accounting workflows, internal controls, and reporting processes
- Support ERP upgrades, implementations, and automation projects
- Research new or unusual transactions and recommend the correct treatment

The person
- You will need a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and three to nine years of progressive accounting experience.
- You should also have strong US GAAP knowledge, month-end close experience, financial statement preparation skills, and advanced Microsoft Excel ability.
- CPA status, public accounting experience, ERP implementation exposure, or experience with NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics would be a plus.
- Experience within technology, manufacturing, or construction would also be welcomed.
- Applicants must be local to Denver and be US citizens or Green Card holders.
