Job Details- Position: Registered Nurse – Stepdown
- Location: Redding
- Contract Length: 13 Weeks
- Shift: Day Shift
- Schedule: 3×12
- Experience Required: 2 Years
- Weekly Pay: $2400 to $2590
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring intermediate-level monitoring following ICU or high-acuity treatment
- Perform detailed patient assessments and continuously monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, respiratory status, and neurological condition
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments safely and accurately
- Monitor patients with cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and post-operative conditions, recognizing and responding promptly to changes in condition
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
- Operate and monitor telemetry equipment and other stepdown monitoring devices
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Follow infection prevention protocols, patient safety standards, and hospital policies
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting positive clinical outcomes
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Minimum 2 years of recent Stepdown, Progressive Care (PCU), or Telemetry nursing experience
- Current BLS Certification required
- Current ACLS Certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification preferred
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and caring for medically complex patients
- Strong assessment, communication, clinical judgment, and critical thinking skills
- Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred
- Ability to prioritize multiple patients in a fast-paced acute care environment
- Commitment to delivering safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care
