MUST COME FROM FOOD MANUFACTURING
Job Overview:
To maintain facility and equipment in good working condition to prevent downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
•Ensure assigned preventive maintenance and maintenance work orders are completed timely.
•Ensure that equipment repairs and installations are performed to meet food safety requirements and regulatory agency specifications.
•Ensure that job kits are ready and available for corrective repair work.
•Communicate to Maintenance Supervisor concerns regarding issues that do not meet Company expectations.
•Responsible for ensuring mechanical system on all processing, packaging, ancillary and utility plant equipment are in good repair to prevent down time for the main processing facility, receiving yards, warehouses, boilers, and air compressors.
•Ensure all processing and packaging equipment and mechanical systems are running at peak production efficiency ensuring products produced are within budget.
•Ensure that all work orders are completed in timely manner.
•Ensure preventive maintenance is being performed on all assigned equipment and repairs needed are completed timely.
•Ensure temporary repairs have work orders for permanent repairs to prevent future downtime.
•Complete weekly plant inspections for deficiencies, concerns, and communicate to Maintenance Supervisor results of the inspection.
•Follow Company safety and food safety policies.
•Always use Lock Out Tag Out when working on equipment.
•Assist other Line Mechanics with repairs or other work as needed.
•Abide by all Company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Lock Out Tag Out Procedures.
•Wear common PPE required.
•Must be willing to work overtime.
•Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
•Understand how hydraulic/pneumatic systems function.
•Electrical experience, multimeter use, motors, contactors, frequency drivers.
•Mig, Tig, Stick welding.
•Boilers and air compressor
•Troubleshooting skills
•Use of Lock Out Tag Out
•Powertrain: gearbox, motor, sprocket, pulley, chains, belts.
•Proper lubrication of bearings, chains.
•Read, write, speak in English required and Spanish preferred.
•Read and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, schematics, engineering designs/drawings, CAD drawings and governmental regulations.
•Use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point).
•Use CMMS.
•Use hand tools and shop tools.
•Use precision maintenance tools (micrometer, dial indicator, calipers).
•Read, write, and speak English fluently.
•Know how to solve practical problems using common sense and collected data.
•Complete tasks with minimal supervision
•Manage competing demands and remain professional while producing timely results.
•Communicate with all teams at the facility.
•Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and customers.
•Oversee inhouse projects and outside contractors in small or large projects.
•Acquire planned materials, tools, documentation for planned work, and work order information for reactive work.
•Willingness to work
•Be able to know when to use Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
•Understand that Lock out Tag Out procedures are never ignored.
•Self-control of their behavior and actions and be able to treat others with respect.
•Be responsible for coming to work and arrive on time.
•Ability to act quickly and effectively when a problem arises.
Education and Work Experience:
•High School Diploma or equivalent
•7 years of industrial maintenance experience, prefer 5 years with one company.
•Must wear and use all protective and safety equipment as directed by the Company.
