You will machine components used in power distribution and coolant systems for data centers, working with very fine tolerances and a variety of advanced CNC equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC turning centers and vertical machining centers to produce industrial bearings to precise specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to determine machining requirements, dimensions, and tolerances.
  • Machine industrial bearings that are used in power distribution and coolant systems for data centers, including components weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
  • Maintain very fine tolerances in accordance with drawing and specification requirements, ensuring consistent quality and accuracy.
  • Use micrometers (up to 25 inches), calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Operate both CNC mills and CNC lathes, adjusting tools, offsets, and programs as needed to maintain part quality.
  • Work with G-code and M-code, including making minor program edits or adjustments as required for efficient and accurate machining.
  • Perform setups on various CNC machines, including loading tools, setting work offsets, and verifying programs prior to production.
  • Monitor machine operations throughout the production run and make necessary adjustments to maintain tolerances and surface finishes.
  • Follow established procedures and best practices to ensure safe operation of machines and handling of materials.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to troubleshoot machining issues and continuously improve processes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including routine checks and basic maintenance of machines and tooling.
  • Work a consistent night shift schedule with overtime as required, while remaining flexible for travel assignments.
Essential Skills
  • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with hands-on setup and operation of CNC lathes and mills.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings for precision machining.
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining very fine tolerances in a production or job-shop environment.
  • Proficiency using micrometers up to 25 inches, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.
  • Solid understanding and practical experience with G-code and M-code for CNC machining.
  • Ability to perform CNC machine setup, including tooling, workholding, offsets, and program verification.
  • Strong math skills, including the ability to perform shop math and trigonometry as needed for machining operations.
  • Comfort lifting and handling parts and components weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work night shifts on a consistent basis.
  • Background and qualifications aligned with a CNC Machinist role.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience operating Haas CNC lathes and mills with Haas controls.
  • Experience operating Fanuc-controlled CNC machines.
  • Experience operating Okuma CNC lathes with Okuma controls.
  • Familiarity with vertical turning lathes (VTLs), particularly large-diameter workpieces.
  • Experience with manual Bridgeport mills for secondary operations or tooling work.
  • Ability to perform minor CNC programming edits at the machine control.
  • Comfort working with live tooling on multi-axis CNC lathes.
  • Previous experience machining components for industrial or heavy-duty applications.
Why Work Here?

You join a company that values skilled tradespeople and provides steady, overtime-rich work on advanced CNC equipment. The role offers a generous daily per diem while traveling, reflecting a commitment to supporting employees on the road. You work with modern machinery in a specialized industrial environment, contributing to critical systems for data centers. The facility uses a wide range of CNC equipment, including Haas SL30 and SL40 horizontal lathes with live tooling and Haas controls; a CNC lathe with Fanuc controls; Okuma Genos LB2000-e, LB3000 EXII, and LB45 horizontal lathes with live tooling and Okuma controls; a Toshiba TUE 150 vertical turning lathe (VTL); Leblond Makino 106 vertical machining centers; Haas VF6 vertical machining centers; and additional Haas-controlled vertical machining centers. A manual 3-axis Bridgeport mill is also in regular use. The work requires standing for extended periods, operating and monitoring machines, handling parts up to approximately 50 pounds, and working with precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers. As a traveling role, you receive a daily per diem while on assignment and can expect a structured, production-focused environment where safety, precision, and adherence to procedures are essential.
