Construction Estimator

The Commercial Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. This position works closely with company leadership and project management and sales to secure profitable work and ensure a smooth transition from estimating to construction. Estimates required include hard bid, design build and conceptual. Must be organized and able to multitask.

Estimating and Preconstruction

Review architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings and specifications.

Perform complete takeoffs.

Prepare conceptual, budgetary, negotiated, and competitive bid estimates.

Develop complete project budgets including labor, materials, subcontractors, equipment, overhead, and profit.

Identify scope gaps, risks, and value engineering opportunities.

Qualify and review subcontractor bids

Participate in pre-bid meetings and project walkthroughs.

Complete site visits to meet with customers and review project scope

Send bid invitations and Solicit subcontractor bids,

Develop pre-construction RFP package

Receive and respond to subcontractor RFI’s

Submit pre-bid RFI’s
