Experienced Physician Assistant (PA-C) – Primary Care & Obesity Medicine
Macie Medical | Katy, TX 77450
Full-time | $65–$70/hour (approx. $135,000–$145,000 annually) | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM –5:00 PM, plus approximately one Saturday per month paid at your regular hourly rate in addition to your standard 40 hours.
The role
Macie Medical is a physician-owned Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine practice serving Katy and the Greater Houston area. As our practice continues to grow, we're looking for a compassionate, clinically confident Physician Assistant who enjoys building long-term relationships with patients and wants to grow with a modern, physician-led practice.
What your day actually looks like: 16–20 patients per day, 30-minute visit slots for new patients and 15-minutes visit slot of follow ups, Dedicated administrative time is built into your schedule to complete documentation and patient follow-up. No call. No hospital rounding. You'll work in EPIC with in-house EKG, spirometry, and point-of-care testing.
Autonomy with backup: You'll practice under a Texas prescriptive authority agreement with our board-certified Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine physician, who is on-site daily and available for consultation.
Our goal is to provide high-quality, unrushed care that patients genuinely appreciate. We prioritize continuity, preventive medicine, and long-term relationships over high-volume, transactional visits.
What you'll do
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic conditions in adult patients
- Manage hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, thyroid disorders, obesity, asthma, COPD, anxiety, and depression
- Perform annual wellness visits and comprehensive physicals
- Order and interpret labs, imaging, and EKGs
- Deliver evidence-based obesity medicine care, including pharmacotherapy and lifestyle counseling
- Perform in-office procedures within your scope of practice
- Document accurately and on time in EPIC
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients on preventive care, nutrition, exercise, and healthy lifestyle habits.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical protocol development.
What we're looking for
Required
- Graduate of an accredited PA program; NCCPA certified
- Current Texas PA license, or license pending
- Active DEA registration, or eligibility to obtain before your start date
- Current BLS certification
- 2+ years of experience in primary care, internal medicine, or family medicine.
Preferred: experience independently managing adult panels, an obesity medicine or preventive care background, EPIC experience.
Exceptional new graduates with strong outpatient primary care training are encouraged to apply.
