Position Overview

Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday
Pay: $30.00–$39.00/hour (DOE)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Machinist to support the fabrication, modification, and maintenance of precision mechanical components used in next-generation atmospheric water production systems. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative R&D environment where you'll help transform engineering designs into functional prototypes and support early-stage manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools, including lathes, mills, drill presses, and grinders.
- Fabricate precision parts to engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T callouts, and dimensional tolerances.
- Perform in-process and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
- Maintain and calibrate machine tools and shop equipment.
- Collaborate with engineers to improve manufacturability and optimize component designs.
- Assist with mechanical assembly and fit-up of prototype systems.
- Document machining parameters, work orders, and inspection results.
- Monitor material inventory and communicate low-stock needs.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean machine shop while following all company safety procedures.
- Support production scale-up as manufacturing volumes increase.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Machinist apprenticeship, vocational training, or Associate's degree in Machining or Manufacturing Technology preferred.
- 2–5 years of machining experience in a production, prototype, or R&D environment.
- Strong experience operating manual machining equipment.
- CNC machining experience (Haas, Mazak, or similar) strongly preferred.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
- Knowledge of machining aluminum, stainless steel, plastics (HDPE, PTFE), and other materials.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and CMM.
- Welding (TIG/MIG), sheet metal fabrication, or mechanical assembly experience is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
