Medical Billing Specialist

RemX is seeking a detail-oriented IDR Billing Specialist for a growing healthcare organization in Houston, TX. This position is ideal for someone with experience in medical billing, claims processing, revenue cycle, or insurance-related operations who enjoys analytical work and resolving complex billing issues.

Location: Houston, TX (100% Onsite)
Pay: $23.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time

In this role, you'll support the review, tracking, and resolution of healthcare claim disputes while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely follow-up throughout the process.

Responsibilities

• Review healthcare claims, billing records, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare and submit dispute-related documentation within required timelines.
• Track claim status and monitor cases through the dispute resolution process.
• Research payment discrepancies, claim variances, and billing-related issues.
• Work closely with internal departments and external parties to obtain information and resolve outstanding matters.
• Maintain detailed and organized documentation of claim activity and case outcomes.
• Generate reports and provide updates regarding billing trends and dispute resolution progress.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and established procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy within billing and claims processes.
• Assist with additional revenue cycle and billing support functions as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in medical billing, healthcare claims, insurance processing, revenue cycle, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
• Experience researching and resolving billing or payment discrepancies preferred.
