Job Description
Linen Sort Technician
6 Months Contract - Only fully committed need apply.
Pay Rate $19.00
- Available Monday-Saturday as scheduled.
- Understands the scheduled start time is 7:00 AM.
- Must be available to work up to 12-hour shifts (6 days per week) based on operational needs.
- Understands the daily end time is determined by the department's linen production requirements and is communicated the same day during the shift.
- Physical, fast-paced production environment.
- Hot industrial laundry facility with continuous standing, lifting, sorting, pushing, pulling, and repetitive physical activity throughout the shift.
Standard break schedule:
15-minute break: 9:00 AM - 9:15 AM
30-minute lunch: 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM
Additional 15-minute break if the shift exceeds 12 hours.
- Understands overtime is mandatory, may be communicated on short notice near the end of the shift, and candidates should expect frequent extended workdays.
- Has reliable transportation and can accommodate variable end times with same-day notice.
- Candidate verbally confirms they understand and accept these scheduling expectations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Understands this is a hot industrial laundry production environment.
- Comfortable with continuous standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and repetitive physical work throughout the shift.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
ASSIGNMENT EXPECTATIONS:
- Able to commit to the initial 26-week assignment.
- Understands attendance and reliability are critical.
- Comfortable receiving direction from supervisors and the Tech 3 on duty.
COMPLIANCE:
- Understands vaccination documentation and healthcare onboarding are required.
- Able to complete onboarding requirements.
- Able to report for required labs within 48 hours of signing.
- Understands candidates who clear compliance sooner may start sooner.

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 6 months of recent experience in warehouse, manufacturing, production, laundry services, housekeeping, environmental services (EVS), distribution, or other physically demanding work environments preferred.
Candidates with demonstrated reliability and attendance in labor-intensive roles are strongly encouraged to apply.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sort soiled linens for healthcare facilities and contracted clients according to established production standards.
- Maintain production output that meets or exceeds department expectations.
- Assist with laundry production operations to ensure an adequate linen supply for patient care and facility needs.
- Follow all workplace safety, health, and operational procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Demonstrate flexibility to support various laundry production and distribution functions as needed.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily production goals.
- Comply with attendance, scheduling, overtime, and departmental policies.
- Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and move linen carts and bags throughout the workday.
- Comfortable working in a hot industrial laundry environment.
- Strong attendance and reliability.
- Ability to work mandatory overtime on short notice, including shifts extending well beyond the scheduled end time based on daily production needs.
- Reliable transportation with flexibility for variable end times.
- Ability to learn new processes and adapt to changing production needs.
- Ability to commit to the initial 26-week assignment.
