Job Description
The Quality Engineer ensures the highest quality standards for the client's automotive products throughout the entire product lifecycle. This role is a key player on the quality team, responsible for quality assurance during new product launches, identifying and resolving quality issues, and driving continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the automotive industry and a deep understanding of quality systems and tools such as IATF 16949 and APQP, and will bring a proactive, collaborative approach to problem-solving and cross-functional teamwork.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Provide quality assurance support to assigned launching programs, including trial preparation, safe launch planning, and internal auditing.
● Identify, report, and track quality problems and/or trends.
● Recommend and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement efforts in collaboration with the cross-functional team.
● Participate in and conduct scrap reduction programs.
● Prepare quality documents, including control plans, PFMEA, capability studies, and PPAP package submissions.
● Serve as the primary interface with the customer SQE.
● Coordinate engineering change implementations with the cross-functional team.
● Lead response and investigation efforts for customer claims and internal quality investigations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
● Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
● 3-5 years of experience in the automotive industry.
● Knowledge of IATF 16949 and APQP requirements.
● Understanding of GD&T and injection molding.
● Familiarity with control plans, FMEA, process flow, 8D, SPC, poka-yoke, and data collection/analysis.
