About this job

SoBro Construction — Hillsboro, OR

SoBro Construction is a non-union specialty contractor in the Pacific Northwest, with divisions in electrical contracting and wireless/low-voltage. We do commercial and industrial electrical work across Oregon and Washington.

We're hiring a Senior Project Manager to run the commercial and operational side of our electrical division. This person manages projects from bid through closeout, owns project financial performance, and works directly with clients and GCs. The role sits alongside an experienced field superintendent and project administrator. This role will run the jobs and the numbers; the field leadership is in place.

Responsibilities

  • Manage electrical projects from initiation through closeout: scope, schedule, budget, and quality
  • Own project financial performance — budgets, job costing, monthly projections, and margin
  • Prepare and negotiate change orders; perform takeoffs and support estimating on bids
  • Prepare and track RFIs and submittals; manage subcontractors and major buyouts
  • Work directly with clients and GCs on scope, schedule, and commercial issues
  • Maintain and grow client and GC relationships — identify repeat and follow-on work and feed opportunities into our sales pipeline and CRM
  • Coordinate closely with our field superintendent on production planning and execution
  • Walk jobs regularly and stay close to the work

The ideal candidate

  • 7–10 years of electrical project management experience, including commercial and/or industrial projects in the $1M+ range
  • Technically fluent: strong on electrical materials and methods, code, and reading and marking up drawings — the field can bring you real questions and get real answers
  • Capable estimator: can do takeoffs, price change orders, and pressure-test a bid (Accubid or similar a plus)
  • Financially disciplined: knows job cost systems, builds honest projections, and manages to margin, not just to schedule
  • Client-facing and commercially sharp: comfortable negotiating change orders, holding a GC relationship, and turning a well-run job into the next one
  • Present and reachable during the work day — for the field, for clients, and for the team
  • Self-directed: comfortable in a lean company with real autonomy and real accountability, without layers of process to hide behind
  • Oregon and/or Washington project experience preferred; familiarity with prevailing wage work a plus

Compensation
$140,000–$180,000 base salary based on experience, with performance incentives tied to project gross margin — total compensation potential of $220,000+. Your results directly drive your upside. Health benefits, paid holidays, and PTO.

Why here instead of a bigger shop
You'll run your projects with real autonomy, work directly with ownership, and your margin performance is rewarded directly — not absorbed into a corporate pool. We're lean, growing, and the work is interesting.

The pay range for this role is:
140,000 - 180,000 USD per year(HQ)
