Job Description
This role operates and maintains a BOBST 104 die cutter in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The die technician sets up and runs the machine, performs preventive maintenance, and troubleshoots mechanical and electrical issues to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate production. The technician inspects finished product for quality, makes precise adjustments as needed, and handles dies safely and consistently throughout the shift.
Responsibilities
- Operate a BOBST 104 die cutter and similar die cutting equipment in a production environment.
- Set up the die cutter for each job, including installing, changing, and removing dies safely and accurately.
- Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on the die cutter to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Apply Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures correctly to ensure safety during maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues on the die cutter and related equipment.
- Assist in diagnosing and addressing basic electrical issues related to the die cutting machinery.
- Inspect product throughout the run to confirm it meets specifications and quality standards.
- Make precise mechanical and operational adjustments to the machine to maintain product accuracy and quality.
- Handle, lift, and move dies weighing 50+ pounds repeatedly and safely during changeovers.
- Monitor machine performance, identify potential problems, and take corrective action promptly.
- Follow production schedules and meet output targets while maintaining high quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with facility safety guidelines.
- Document maintenance activities, machine issues, and production information as required.
- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to improve machine reliability and efficiency.
Essential Skills
- At least 5 years of experience in a mechanical setting, such as machine operation or maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience operating a BOBST 104-106 or similar die cutting machine.
- Proficiency in machine operation within a manufacturing production setting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues on production equipment.
- Experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar maintenance-focused role.
- Working knowledge of Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and safe maintenance practices.
- Ability to consistently lift and move 50+ pounds, particularly the weight of each die, throughout the shift.
- Attention to detail and skill in inspecting product for accuracy and quality.
- Ability to make precise mechanical and operational adjustments on die cutting equipment.
- Comfort working with both mechanical and basic electrical components on production machinery.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience specifically operating or maintaining die cutting machines is a strong plus.
- Experience in tool and die work or related fields.
- Experience in machine operating and manufacturing production environments.
- Willingness to work overtime, including occasional Saturdays and extended hours when needed.
- Strong safety mindset and adherence to facility safety procedures.
- Solid communication skills to coordinate with production and maintenance teams.
- Reliability and consistency in following production schedules and quality requirements.

Work Environment
This position is based in an indoor production and manufacturing facility focused on die cutting operations. You will work primarily on a BOBST 104 die cutter and similar industrial equipment in a fast-paced, high-volume setting. The standard schedule is a second shift, Monday through Friday, from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, with occasional overtime on Saturdays and extended hours when required. The environment emphasizes safety, including proper use of Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and safe handling of heavy dies weighing 50+ pounds. The facility is structured, organized, and geared toward continuous production, with clear safety protocols and expectations for consistent, reliable attendance.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $47840.00 - $54080.00/yr.
