Job Title: Packager

Job Description

This role involves working on a food production line to hand-package a variety of candy and food products on the 2nd shift. You will carefully package products into boxes or single-packaged goods, palletize finished items, and prepare boxed products for shipment while maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant food production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Hand package different types of candy and food products with attention to quality and consistency.
  • Package products into boxes or single packaged goods according to production and packaging specifications.
  • Palletize finished product safely and efficiently for storage or shipment.
  • Box product for shipment, ensuring correct labeling, counts, and secure packaging.
  • Inspect products and packaging visually to identify defects, contamination, or nonconformities.
  • Operate basic production and packaging equipment as directed, following safety and operational procedures.
  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and quality guidelines while working on the production floor.
  • Lift and move products and boxes weighing up to 20 lbs as part of routine duties.
  • Stand for the entire shift while performing repetitive tasks on the production line.
  • Work with marshmallows and gummy candy made with gelatin, using gloves when needed to avoid direct contact.
  • Comply with all dress code, personal protective equipment, and safety requirements at all times.
  • Store personal items, including cell phones, in designated areas such as lockers or vehicles and keep them off the production floor.

Essential Skills

  • Up to 6 months of production or general labor experience preferred; candidates without prior experience may also qualify.
  • Ability to perform general labor tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Capability to stand for the entire shift while performing repetitive motions.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 20 lbs regularly and safely.
  • Willingness to work with marshmallows and gummy candy made with gelatin, using gloves as needed.
  • Basic understanding of production, packing, inspection, and packaging processes.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure product quality and proper packaging.
  • Reliability and punctuality for 2nd shift work in a structured production setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food production or packaging environments is an advantage.
  • Experience with machine operation in a production or packaging setting is beneficial.
  • Comfort working under structured rules related to hygiene, attire, and safety.
  • Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment, including masks, hairnets, and beard nets if applicable.
  • Ability to adapt to repetitive tasks while maintaining focus and quality standards.

Work Environment

This position is based in a food production environment on the 2nd shift, where you work on or near production lines for the entire shift. You will stand for the full duration of your shift and perform repetitive tasks such as packing, palletizing, and inspecting products. The facility requires strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards. You must wear a mask while on the production floor and use hairnets and beard nets if you have facial hair. The dress code does not allow shorts, capris, clothes with holes, tank tops, open-toed shoes, or any footwear that leaves feet or ankles uncovered. Jewelry, watches, false fingernails, nail polish, false eyelashes, and clothing with sequins, beads, or other loose items are not permitted to prevent contamination. Cell phones are not allowed on the production floor and must be stored in a locker or vehicle. The environment emphasizes cleanliness, safety, and consistent procedures to protect both employees and food products.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $16.00/hr.
