Job Title: Finisher – 3rd Shift
Job Description
The Finisher on 3rd shift prepares metal products to meet precise customer specifications by performing grinding, sanding, assembly, and inspection tasks. This role uses a variety of hand and power tools to remove excess material, complete finishing operations, and support machine operators, while maintaining a clean and safe work area.
Responsibilities
- Prepare products to meet customer specifications by performing detailed finishing work on metal components.
- Use hand grinders to sand and grind down excess metal, ensuring smooth surfaces and proper dimensions.
- Perform assembly of products as needed to complete finished units.
- Assist machine operators during downtime, including material handling and basic machine support tasks.
- Use various hand and power tools, such as grinders, sanders, hammers, and polishing tools, to complete finishing operations.
- Inspect products and perform quality assurance checks to ensure they meet quality and blueprint requirements.
- Deburr, polish, and finish metal parts to remove sharp edges and improve appearance and functionality.
- Read and follow blueprints or work instructions to complete mechanical assembly and finishing tasks accurately.
- Perform general cleaning duties around the work area to maintain a safe and organized environment.
- Lift and move materials and products weighing up to 55 pounds as part of daily production activities.
- Support production, manufacturing, and machine operation teams by completing assigned finishing and kitting tasks.
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to facility rules.
Essential Skills
- Prior experience using grinders and hand tools in a production, manufacturing, construction, or finishing environment.
- Comfort using a hammer to straighten parts and perform basic mechanical adjustments.
- Ability to lift up to 55 pounds safely and repeatedly during the shift.
- Basic experience in general production, general labor, or manufacturing (3 months preferred).
- Ability to use hand and power tools for grinding, sanding, polishing, deburring, and metal finishing.
- Attention to detail when inspecting products and performing quality assurance checks.
- Ability to follow blueprints or work instructions for finishing and mechanical assembly tasks.
- Reliability in working 3rd shift and supporting production schedules.
- Commitment to following safety procedures and wearing required protective equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in metal finishing, grinding, sanding, and polishing operations.
- Familiarity with machine operation and supporting operators during downtime.
- Experience with inspection, kitting, and mechanical assembly tasks.
- Comfort working in a manufacturing or production environment that can be warm in the summer.
- Ability to work overtime when available to support production demands.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.25 - $26.25/hr.
