Primary Care Physician – VA Medical Center
Location: Brainerd CBOC
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Pay Rate: $148 per hour
Employment Type: Federal contract assignment
Call Requirements: No nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts
Position Overview
All Med Staffing is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Primary Care Physician to provide comprehensive outpatient care to veterans at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center.
This is a stable, long-term federal assignment offering a predictable weekday schedule, manageable patient volume, malpractice coverage, and full credentialing support. The physician will work as part of a collaborative Patient Aligned Care Team, providing preventive, acute, and chronic care services.
Schedule and Workload
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
- No nights, weekends, or on-call responsibilities
- Approximately 40 hours per week
- Up to five additional hours per week may be available for training, administrative responsibilities, and care coordination
- Average caseload of approximately 12 patients per day
- Appointment lengths range from 30 to 60 minutes
- Approximately 80% direct patient care and 20% administrative responsibilities
- All federal holidays are observed
- Holiday coverage is not required except in emergency situations
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care services, including preventive care, health screenings, acute illness and injury treatment, and chronic disease management.
- Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, and other common primary care concerns.
- Provide care for a broad range of ambulatory conditions, including musculoskeletal, dermatologic, geriatric, gynecologic, and mild behavioral health concerns.
- Review diagnostic testing and communicate results to patients according to VA protocols.
- Document all patient care accurately and promptly within the VA’s CPRS/EHR system.
- Coordinate referrals, specialty consultations, follow-up care, and discharge planning.
- Participate in quality assurance, quality improvement, and peer-review activities.
- Collaborate with nurses, pharmacists, behavioral health professionals, specialists, and other members of the Patient Aligned Care Team.
- Maintain compliance with VA clinical, documentation, privacy, and patient-safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an accredited institution.
- Current, full, and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state, territory, or Washington, D.C.
- License must have no history of restriction, suspension, revocation, or denial.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible through the American Board of Internal Medicine or American Board of Family Medicine.
- Current Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.
- Active National Provider Identifier number.
- Current DEA registration valid in the state of practice.
- Ability to complete VA credentialing and privileging through VetPro before the assignment begins.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- U.S. work authorization and ability to comply with E-Verify requirements.
- Ability to pass a low-risk federal background investigation and obtain a VA Personal Identity Verification badge.
- Must not be listed on the HHS Office of Inspector General List of Excluded Individuals and Entities.
Health and Immunization Requirements
Candidates must provide current documentation of:
- Tuberculosis screening through TST or IGRA testing
- MMR vaccination or proof of immunity
- Varicella vaccination or proof of immunity
- Tdap vaccination
- Annual influenza vaccination or an approved exemption
Preferred Qualification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification.
