Description\n

American Traveler is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with 2 years of experience and NMTCB certification for a 13-week travel contract at a community hospital in Beckley, WV.

  • Day shift position working 12-hour shifts (8:00 AM – 8:00 PM) on a rotating 36/48-hour schedule (one week 3x12, the following week 4x12, totaling 84 hours per two-week period)
  • \n
  • 13-week travel contract
  • \n
  • Nuclear Medicine department within a community hospital setting
  • \n
  • Procedures include HIDA scans, bone scans (3-phase, whole body, limited), lung scans, DTPA aerosol, perfusion and ventilation/perfusion studies, thyroid studies, cancer surveys, I-123 uptake scans, myocardial imaging, pharmacological stress testing, and thallium stress tests
  • \n
  • Equipment includes GE and Xeleris systems
  • \n
  • No on-call requirements
  • \n
  • Floating within scope of practice is required
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Minimum of 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience required
  • \n
  • Current BLS (AHA) and NMTCB certification required
  • \n
  • Active Compact or State License in hand required at time of consideration — license required if applicable
  • \n
  • Proficiency with GE equipment and Xeleris imaging system
  • \n
  • Experience with IV placement and maintenance
  • \n
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and proper storing, handling, and disposal of radioactive materials
  • \n
  • Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
  • \n
  • Driver's license with address matching permanent address required
  • \n
  • 2 professional references required: 1 Charge Nurse or higher and 1 supervisor, both completed within the last year
  • \n
  • Must be willing to work the rotating 36/48-hour schedule (3x12 one week, 4x12 the next); inability to accept this schedule may result in cancellation
  • \n
Additional Information\n
    \n
  • Perform a full range of nuclear medicine imaging studies including cardiac, oncologic, and organ-specific scans
  • \n
  • Orientation is scheduled on a bi-weekly basis
  • \n
  • Up to 7 days of RTO may be considered; RTO must be declared upfront and no changes will be accepted after submission
  • \n
  • Candidates must be available to work either a major or minor holiday during the assignment
  • \n
  • Travelers who have worked within the system for one year must take a minimum 6-month break before being eligible to return
  • \n
  • Any license issues or background check concerns must be disclosed upfront
  • \n
