Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Rural ICU/Med-Surg position requiring at least 3 years of experience and certifications including ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP.

  • Rural hospital setting serving adult med-surg, pediatric med-surg, and step-down patient populations
  • \n
  • Cares for a diverse patient population including pediatric, geriatric, and general adult patients
  • \n
  • Night shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
  • \n
  • 13-week contract
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Active NM or Compact RN license currently in hand
  • \n
  • Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
  • \n
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS/BCLS, PALS, NRP
  • \n
  • Ability to perform head-to-toe assessments and reassessments across all age groups including pediatric and geriatric populations
  • \n
  • Ability to assist physicians with procedures requiring technical and manual skills
  • \n
  • Demonstrated ability to operate medical equipment safely and correctly
  • \n

  • Responsibilities span ICU-level and med-surg care in a rural hospital environment
  • \n
  • Performs comprehensive assessments and adapts plans of care based on patient response to treatment
  • \n
  • Develops and evaluates patient and family teaching plans based on identified learning needs
  • \n
  • Functions as a liaison between administration, patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers
  • \n
  • Utilizes an interdisciplinary approach by consulting other departments as appropriate
  • \n
  • Addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs of patients and families
  • \n
  • Coordinates with social services and discharge planning for both in-hospital and post-discharge needs
  • \n
