American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU/ED Holding position requiring 2+ years of PCU experience and prior travel assignment history.
Details\n- \n
- Work in an ED Holding unit that boards stable patients from the ED until discharge or transfer to an inpatient unit \n
- Care for a mix of Med-Surg and PCU-type patients within the boarding area \n
- Unit is a 4-bed area that can expand to 8-10 beds based on need, with staffing adjusted according to acuity \n
- Team nursing model in place, with RN working alongside LPN or CNA depending on acuity and staffing \n
- Patient ratios of 1:5-6 \n
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM \n
- Required to work every other weekend \n
- No on-call responsibilities \n
- Float position with 100% floating required, including to an inpatient PCU unit or affiliate hospitals nearby when census allows \n
- Cerner EMR required \n

- Active RN license (IN or Compact) required, must be in hand prior to start date \n
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS \n
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required \n
- Prior PCU experience required \n
- Must be comfortable working in team nursing model with LPN delegation \n
- Must have completed 3-4 previous travel assignments \n
- Cerner charting experience required \n
- RN's nursing school must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at the time of graduation \n
- 2 supervisor references required \n
- SSN and DOB required for consideration \n
- \n
- Provide nursing care to boarded ED patients with Med-Surg and PCU-level acuity \n
- May float to an inpatient PCU unit when no patients are present on the boarding unit \n
- Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays \n
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position \n
- Local candidates (Indiana residents) are not accepted for this position \n
- Any former IU Health perm or PRN employee must be separated for 12 months before applying as a traveler \n
- Current or past IU Health travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment must take a designated consecutive break to reset eligibility: 90 days for out-of-state residents or 180 days for in-state residents \n
