Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a role requiring ARRT certification and experience in cardiac cath lab and EP procedures at an academic medical center.

Details\n
    \n
  • Work within the Interventional Radiology and Cath Lab departments at an academic teaching hospital
  • \n
  • Serve inpatients and outpatients of all ages
  • \n
  • Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab settings
  • \n
  • Take general radiographic films in the department and with mobile x-ray units throughout the hospital
  • \n
  • Assist radiologists with fluoroscopy and specialized procedures
  • \n
  • May assist in teaching radiology students
  • \n
  • 5x8 hour day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • \n
  • Participates in shared on-call rotation with three-person call teams (mix of techs and nurses)
  • \n
  • Weekday call is 3:30 PM to 7:00 AM the next day, weekend call runs from Friday 3:30 PM to Monday 7:00 AM
  • \n
  • Uses computed tomography, fluoroscopy, and ultrasound equipment
  • \n
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • \n
  • 100% onsite position requiring candidates to be based in the greater Chicagoland area
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience required
  • \n
  • Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology
  • \n
  • ARRT certification required
  • \n
  • BLS certification from AHA required
  • \n
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • \n
  • Active Radiography accreditation with the Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety required
  • \n
  • License required if applicable
  • \n
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • \n
  • Experience with cardiac cath lab procedures including diagnostic catheterizations, PCI, right/left heart catheterization, and pacemaker insertion
  • \n
  • Experience with EP procedures including cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, arrhythmia induction, and AICD insertion/programming
  • \n
  • Experience with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
  • \n
  • Skilled in EKG lead placement, access site prep, sterile field maintenance, and hemodynamic monitoring
  • \n
  • Thorough knowledge of sophisticated equipment used in Interventional Radiology preferred
  • \n
  • Ability to work under pressure and react quickly and accurately in problem situations preferred
  • \n
Additional Information\n

  • Works under the supervision of the Chief Technologist – Interventional Radiology
  • \n
  • Responsibilities include equipment setup, accurate monitoring, room circulating, scrubbing, and maintaining sterile technique
  • \n
  • Maintains equipment and inventory and stocks supplies as needed
  • \n
  • Prepares charge slips and other records as required
  • \n
  • RTO may not exceed 3 days and cannot be taken during the first or last week of the contract
  • \n
  • Any scheduling or block requests must be submitted with the initial application and discussed during interview
  • \n
  • Former UChicago Medicine, PRN, or Ingalls staff must have separated from employment for at least 7 months before returning as a travel employee
  • \n
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • \n
