American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a night shift travel contract at an acute care hospital in Pennsylvania.

  • Hospital-based MRI department offering full inpatient, outpatient, and emergency imaging services
  • \n
  • Patient population spans neonates through geriatrics, including high-acuity emergency, inpatient, and outpatient cases up to and including trauma and ICU
  • \n
  • MRI procedures include brain, cranial nerves, face/soft tissue neck, head/neck MRA and MRV, orbits, cervical/thoracic/lumbar/sacral spine, spinal trauma, abdomen, pelvis, abdominal/thoracic MRA, MRCP, and musculoskeletal studies (shoulder, knee, hip, foot, hand, lower extremity long bones)
  • \n
  • Special imaging procedures include MIP, perfusion imaging, spin echo, T1/T2 weighted imaging, and surface coil techniques
  • \n
  • GE MRI equipment used
  • \n
  • Epic EMR — experience required
  • \n
  • 5x8 hour night shifts, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
  • \n
  • Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are considered local and are subject to a different pay rate
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Minimum of 2 years of MRI technologist experience required
  • \n
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiology program (Specialized Diploma) required
  • \n
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • \n
  • ARRT (Radiology or MR) or ARMRIT certification required; PA state license or certification required at time of consideration
  • \n
  • AHA BLS required
  • \n
  • Proficiency in IV placement (starting peripheral IVs)
  • \n
  • Proficiency across a broad range of MRI scan types including neurological, spinal, abdominal, pelvic, vascular, and musculoskeletal studies
  • \n
  • Ability to lift, push, and carry 40–50 lbs; frequent to continuous standing and walking throughout shift
  • \n
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • \n
  • 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
  • \n
  • Copies of certifications required for consideration
  • \n
  • PA Fingerprints required — results can take up to 2 weeks; candidates must complete fingerprinting at the earliest available date
  • \n
  • License required if applicable
  • \n
Additional Information\n

  • Performs MRI exams including patient pre-screening, scheduling, education, positioning, and parameter selection to produce high-quality diagnostic images
  • \n
  • Administers contrast injections under direct radiologist or physician supervision
  • \n
  • Ensures accurate submission of images and patient data to PACS
  • \n
  • Collaborates with radiologists and clinical staff regarding patient testing and MRI safety practices
  • \n
  • Complies with MRI safe practices at all times
  • \n
  • Trauma Level II experience preferred
  • \n
  • Adult outpatient experience preferred
  • \n
  • ARRT MR and ARMRIT certifications are preferred
  • \n
  • Male pelvis, hand, and spinal trauma imaging experience preferred
  • \n
  • A pass/fail clinical exam is required for clearance; candidates have a maximum of 3 attempts to pass
  • \n
  • Labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
  • \n
  • RTO must be submitted at time of consideration; RTO requests after submission will not be accepted, and block scheduling cannot be accommodated
  • \n
  • First-time travelers may be considered
  • \n
