\n RN – Labor & Delivery (L&D) | Roles & Responsibilities\n

Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients during the antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases of labor and delivery.

\n

Monitor maternal and fetal well-being, assess labor progression, and communicate changes to providers.

\n

Assist with labor management and provide 1:1 or 1:2 patient care in accordance with AWHONN staffing standards.

\n

Circulate during vaginal deliveries and Cesarean sections (C-sections).

\n

Perform triage assessments for obstetric patients 20 weeks gestation and above.

\n

Attend deliveries and support newborn resuscitation as needed.

\n

Recover and monitor patients following vaginal and Cesarean deliveries.

\n

Provide care for antepartum patients requiring admission to the Labor & Delivery unit.

\n

Float within the Women's Pavilion and participate in scheduled on-call rotations.

\n

Maintain accurate documentation using CPN (GE) and Cerner EMR systems.

Required Documents / Certifications\n

\n
• Active RN License
\n
• BLS
\n
• ACLS
\n
• NRP
\n
• 2+ years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
\n
• At least 2 completed travel assignments in Labor & Delivery (required)
\n
• Ability to pass an EKG test
\n
• CPN and Cerner experience (preferred)
\n
