Production Worker / Sit-Down Forklift Operator

POSITION – Production Worker / Sit-Down Forklift Operator

JOB LOCATION – Wausau, WI

STARTING DATE – As soon as possible

EMPLOYMENT TERM – Direct Hire

EMPLOYMENT TYPE – Full-Time

WORK HOURS (SHIFT) – 1st Shift (Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm)

STARTING PAY – $16.00-$18.00 per hour

EDUCATION – High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE – Previous sit-down forklift experience required. Manufacturing, shipping/receiving, warehouse, or material handling experience preferred.

The company provides carbon fiber, fiberglass, Kevlar/aramid fabrics, resins, and a wide range of composite consumables that help customers develop innovative, high-performance products.

As a Production Worker / Sit-Down Forklift Operator, you'll play an important role in daily warehouse and production operations. This position combines forklift operation with hands-on production work, order fulfillment, shipping and receiving, and material handling. Approximately half of your day will be spent performing physical production and warehouse tasks rather than operating the forklift, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate a sit-down forklift to move materials and finished products safely throughout the facility.
• Build composite panels and assist with production activities.
• Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
• Receive, stock, and organize incoming materials and inventory.
• Load and unload trucks using a forklift and manual material handling techniques.
• Assist with shipping and receiving documentation as needed.
• Work closely with teammates to keep production and warehouse operations running efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous sit-down forklift experience required.
• Willingness to learn and be trained in composite materials and production processes.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong work ethic with a positive, teachable attitude.
• Dependable and able to work independently when needed.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Manufacturing, warehouse, or shipping/receiving experience is preferred but not required.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Combination of warehouse and production environment.
• Approximately 50% of the position involves hands-on production and material handling, with the remaining time operating a sit-down forklift.
• Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials weighing 25-100 pounds (team lifting or equipment available when appropriate).
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and twisting throughout the shift.
• Steel-toe boots and safety glasses are required.
• Must be comfortable working with composite materials and maintaining a safe, clean work environment.
