Cafe/Barista

Whether you're preparing specialty beverages, managing retail transactions, or ensuring food safety standards, your contributions will be vital in delivering a memorable café experience.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks with precision and flair
• Handle retail sales transactions efficiently using point of sale system
• Assist customers with menu selections, answer questions about products, and provide excellent customer service to foster loyalty
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations and dining spaces
• Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures during food preparation and serving
• Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service without compromising quality
• Knowledge and familiarity with scripture to provide a unique experience with every cup (we would like every drink to have a Bible verse on it)
• Support food industry standards by adhering to health regulations and maintaining a safe environment for staff and guests
• Willingness to learn and educate families on the importance of well-rounded nutritional choices

Experience

• Previous barista experience or café work is highly preferred, demonstrating familiarity with coffee preparation and serving techniques, but not required
• Experience with retail sales transactions, cashiering, or food service roles that require strong customer interaction skills
• Knowledge of POS systems
• Strong understanding of food safety practices, food handling, and basic math skills for retail math calculations
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Background in the food industry or retail sales transactions helps ensure confidence in managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously
• Commitment to providing outstanding customer service with a positive attitude that energizes the team
