Admissions RN Behavioral Health Hospital 7pm to 7am

Hiring Immediately for Admissions Registered Nurse 7pm - 7am

**The available shifts are as follows: Three (3) 12-hour shifts weekly including every 3rd weekend). Additional shifts can be picked up if desired**

The Admissions Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for completing comprehensive clinical reviews and assessments to evaluate prospective patients for inpatient behavioral health admission. This individual must be extremely detail oriented.  Our Admissions RN ensures timely, accurate and compassionate admission processes, including evaluating medical and psychiatric stability, obtaining health histories and coordinating with interdisciplinary treatment team. The Admissions RN may also complete insurance and financial reviews for prospective patients when needed to promote timely throughput.

Duties May Include:

• Review referrals to ensure patient is medically stable for transfer

• Performs an in-depth, systematic, preadmission patient assessment and communicates pertinent information to appropriate healthcare providers

• Identifies any risks associated with the patient

• Confirms all legal paperwork is obtained for involuntary admissions

• Communicates with the sending facility to obtain any information needed in order to admit a patient safely

• Cross trains to be able to complete a referral in its entirety: financially, medically and legally

• Organizes and prioritizes multiple complex tasks in a fast-paced environment

• Works with Unit Managers/Supervisors to make bed assignments

• Builds positive relationships with nursing units, nursing managers/supervisors and nursing leadership to ensure the appropriate placement of patients based on priority, acuity and care needed

• Documents patient information into Expanse

• Provides hand-off communication to the receiving nursing unit

• Gives and receives shift reports and answers telephone inquiries

Qualifications:

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) License

• 3+ years inpatient behavioral health nursing experience required

• Admissions experience preferred (Med-Surg, Emergency Dept, Behavioral Health)  

• BLS/CPR for health care provider required
