Pharmacy Technician Supervisor / IS - Central Pharmacy - AM (144) - Now Hiring

Pay range: $22.90 - $37.25 / hour

Shifts: full-time AM

Schedules: Monday - Friday, 6:30AM - 3:00PM

Our team of approximately 150 pharmacists and 150 technicians work together to support pharmacy operations and serve a diverse patient population with compassion and clinical expertise. As a pharmacy technician at UAB Medicine, you’ll be an integral part of the pharmacy team. Pharmacy technicians work directly with pharmacists and have a variety of responsibilities that support patient care at UAB Hospital. Duties may include preparing sterile IV medications, filling medication order requests, filling automated dispensing cabinets, compounding non-sterile medications and preparing prescription orders. Under pharmacist supervision, to maintain the receiving and distribution of supplies, including medications for the department. To perform supply-related inventory control functions and provide supervision and training of technical staff. Certified technician to oversee education and development in Central Pharmacy with a focus on distribution.

High School diploma or GED and five (5) years of related experience required. Currently registered or eligible to be registered as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy intern/extern by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) required. Active registration will be required prior to date of hire. Currently certified as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or other nationally recognized and accredited certification program requiring examination. Must have 2 years of pharmacy experience.
