Job Description
Seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Analytical Chemist to join our client's Liquid Chromatography team as a Chemist II. You'll be at the heart of analytical operations - running sophisticated instrumentation, delivering accurate results to clients, and driving continuous improvement in lab processes.
- Analyze samples using LC instrumentation with MS and MSMS detection
- Work with industry-standard software platforms (Agilent, SCIEX, Waters)
- Follow validated methods and maintain ISO17025 standards
- Troubleshoot analytical issues and optimize LC methods
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration on chromatographic equipment
- Develop new methodologies and improve existing processes
- Participate in R&D projects and contribute fresh ideas
- Train and support other chemists in your department
- Track internal quality control data and monitor extraction efficiency trends
- Review colleagues' data packages for accuracy and completeness
- Handle both routine and complex sample matrices independently
- Manage data entry and quality assurance in our LIMS
- Partner across departments to meet business needs
- Work safely with proper lab protocols and PPE
Qualifications:
- BS in Chemistry or related science
- 1+ years of hands-on experience with LC-MS/MSMS instrumentation, or GC
- Proficiency with analytical software (Agilent MassHunter, SCIEX Analyst, Waters Acquity, or similar)
- Experience creating data packages and managing multiple priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
- 3+ years with LCMS or LCMSMS in a high-throughput commercial lab
- Experience with method development and MS/MSMS optimization
- Expertise in large-scale pesticide panels (100+ compounds)
- Hands-on experience with the QuEChERS extraction technique
Work Environment:
You'll work in a modern analytical laboratory with advanced liquid chromatography instrumentation. The role involves regular hands-on equipment operation and following detailed safety protocols.
