Job Description
We are seeking an experienced CNC Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and reliability of CNC machine tools and manufacturing equipment within a precision machining environment. This is a full-time, on-site, non-exempt hourly position with opportunities for overtime and extended shifts based on production demands.
Candidates must be comfortable working 12-hour shifts Monday through Friday as needed.
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical troubleshooting abilities, hands-on experience maintaining CNC machining equipment, and electrical troubleshooting skills. This individual should be able to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while helping maximize equipment uptime and production efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on CNC machine tools, machining centers, lathes, mills, and other manufacturing equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, and coolant systems
- Diagnose equipment failures and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime
- Perform preventive maintenance independently with minimal supervision
- Troubleshoot and repair servo motors, spindle motors, drive systems, tool changers, pallet systems, and other machine components
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Perform machine calibrations, alignments, and precision adjustments as needed
- Assist with installation, startup, and commissioning of new or relocated equipment
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance accurately
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability and process efficiency
- Work collaboratively with production, engineering, and operations teams to maintain efficient manufacturing operations
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of maintenance experience supporting CNC machining equipment in a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience troubleshooting and repairing CNC machine tools
- Electrical troubleshooting experience with motors, drives, relays, sensors, contactors, transformers, and control circuits
- Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Ability to diagnose both mechanical and electrical issues efficiently to minimize equipment downtime
- Experience performing preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and equipment documentation
- Proficiency using diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, meggers, and other electrical testing devices
- Strong understanding of workplace safety practices and OSHA standards
- Ability to lift equipment, stand for extended periods, and work safely in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Experience
- Experience maintaining CNC machining equipment in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- PLC troubleshooting experience
- Knowledge of CNC controls, servo systems, variable frequency drives, and machine automation
- Experience with machine calibration, alignment, spindle systems, and precision mechanical repairs
- Industrial electrical, mechatronics, or maintenance certification is a plus
