Registered Nurse RN (Pediatric Med/Surg)

Position Summary

Alliance Staffing Solutions LLC is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RN) for PRN opportunities with Shriners Children’s. This position provides specialized nursing care to pediatric patients in an acute care Medical/Surgical setting. The ideal candidate is compassionate, clinically skilled, and experienced in caring for children with complex medical and surgical needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients in an acute care Med/Surg unit.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies according to physician orders.
• Monitor patient conditions and promptly communicate changes to the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Accurately document all patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Follow all hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, and patient safety standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of two (2) years of acute care pediatric Medical/Surgical experience within the past five (5) years.
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association required).
• PALS certification preferred or required by facility.
• Strong pediatric assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a children's hospital.
• Experience caring for post-operative pediatric patients.
• Familiarity with Epic or other electronic medical record systems.
