Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Direct Care Worker will provide care to individuals with special needs in a Day program setting. The position entails providing social interaction, behavior management, personal care, assisting with ADLs and communication skills.
Job duties/expectations include:
- Develop positive relationships and support
- Assist individuals to meet their physical needs such as hygiene needs, health, and safety needs.
- Assist individuals in participating in social activities and group outings
- Provide supervision for individuals to increase social and adaptive skills
- Provide opportunities for social interactions, to assist individuals develop appropriate social skills
- Implement and assist individuals to attain their identified goals
- Assist individuals to develop, maintain, and enhance independent functioning skills
- Implement daily curriculum schedule
- Maintain accurate daily data collection on individual progress reports and behavior treatment plans
- Provide safe transportation for individuals daily
- Maintain compliance with Division of Developmental Disabilities policies and procedures
- Be willing to take the required training classes and maintain current certifications
- Always maintain professionalism while representing the organization
- Possess good social communication skills
QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Valid Arizona Driver’s License
• Current Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Completed Criminal History Affidavit
• Reliable means of transportation with current insurance and registration
• CPR, First Aid, Article 9
Must be at least 18 years of age.
