About the Role
5-Mile Creek Construction LLC is hiring a Multi-Skilled Carpenter & Lead Craftsman to execute residential remodeling, additions, and custom renovations. We are a fast-growing, agile general contracting firm specializing in small- to medium-sized residential projects from decks, kitchens, and baths to room additions and whole-house renovations from footings to ridge vents.
We need a dependable all-around tradesman who takes pride in quality craftsmanship and can carry projects independently or with a crew from rough framing through drywall finishing and interior/exterior painting.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Framing & Carpentry: Execute rough framing, stud framing, sheathing, siding, concrete forming, and finish carpentry (trim, doors, cabinetry).
Drywall & Surface Prep: Perform drywall hanging, taping, mudding, Level 4/5 finishing, and drywall repair.
Painting & Finishing: Prepare surfaces (scraping, sanding, filling), mix/match paints, and apply high-end interior/exterior finishes using brushes, rollers, and airless sprayers.
Materials & Tools: Cut and rip boards and paneling with precision; measure accurately down to the 1/16"; maintain and care for company tools and equipment.
Blueprint Reading: Interpret blueprints, schematics, and job specs to ensure framing and finish accuracy.
Safety & Quality Control: Adhere to job-site safety guidelines, wear PPE, and maintain clean, organized work sites.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: Minimum 5+ years in residential construction, carpentry, and painting/finishing.
Multi-Trade Expertise: Proficient across multiple trades (rough carpentry, finish carpentry, drywall repair, painting, flooring installation basics).
Math Skills: Strong basic math skills (tape measure reading to 1/16", basic square footage calculations).
Licensing & Transport: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (pickup truck capable of hauling materials is a strong plus).
Employment Status: W-2 position (we handle tax withholdings and provide full Workers’ Compensation coverage).
