Physical Therapist — Post Joint Replacement Discharge Evaluations

Outpatient Surgery Center in Campbell, CA is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to perform post operative evaluations for total joint replacement patients prior to discharge. This is a per diem role in an outpatient surgery center with a growing total joint program.

Responsibilities

• Conduct post op PT evaluations on same day total knee and total hip patients to confirm discharge readiness
• Assess gait, transfers, stair negotiation, and assistive device use
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise, precautions, weight bearing status, and DME use
• Document evaluations in the chart and communicate clearance or concerns directly to the surgeon and clinical team
• Coordinate with case management on home health or outpatient PT follow up

Requirements

• Current California PT license in good standing
• BLS certification
• Experience in physical therapy for total joint replacement, knee and hip
• Comfort working with post-surgical orthopedic patients in an ASC or short stay setting
• Ability to work independently and make discharge recommendations with confidence
• Reliable availability on scheduled surgery days

• Schedule: per diem, surgery days only, typically mid-mornings into early evenings.
• Compensation: highly competitive hourly or per case rate based on experience
